I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University — universally abbreviated as TNMU — is one of Ukraine's leading medical universities and the largest medical school in Western Ukraine. The institution was founded in 1957 as a medical institute and elevated to the status of National Medical University by presidential decree in 2004. It is named after Ivan Horbachevsky, the Ukrainian biochemist and Czechoslovak minister of public health in the 1910s–20s.

The Medicine curriculum follows the standard Ukrainian 6-year structure: two pre-clinical years covering anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, biology, histology, microbiology and pathology; four clinical years rotating through internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, family medicine, psychiatry, infectious diseases and emergency medicine.
