Ukraine's transport network is better than most students expect. The rail system is extensive and cheap — you can travel between major cities for $5–15. Urban public transport is excellent value at $0.20–0.30 per ride.
Kyiv has 3 metro lines covering most university areas. All major cities have tram, trolleybus and bus networks. Uber and Bolt operate in all major Ukrainian cities for convenient door-to-door travel at low cost.
Student travel hack: buy a Kyiv Troika card or city transport card in your city — it gives discounts on all public transport. Students with a Ukrainian student ID also get 50% discount on intercity trains.
